A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
After listening to A Court of Thorns and Roses, I knew I had to listen to A Court of Mist and Fury. This is the second book in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. Last time, I really liked the Dramatized Adaptation, so I have listened to this version again. I feel more into the story while listening, and I feel like the books of Sarah J. Maas need this to keep me entertained while listening to them. There is something about her writing style that makes these books hard to get into.
This book continues where the last book ended. Feyre is still struggling to get over the events in the last book. She developed PTSD and Depression, and her engagement with Tamlin isn’t as lovely as she had hoped. She still has her bargain with Rhysand, who comes to get her right on the marriage day. In the book, we dive into the relationship between Rhysand and Feyre and the relationship between Tamlin and Feyre.
“I was burning through books every day - stories about people and places I'd never heard of. They were perhaps the only thing that kept me from teetering into utter despair.”
Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Mist and Fury
This book had a lot happening, and most of it was unexpected. This is definitely something I love about Sarah J. Maas. Her books are all really diverse and have story elements I haven’t read about before. This book has more politics than the last one, but it’s told in an easy-to-understand way. Around the later half of the book, the plot became interesting, and I got more eager to listen all day.
Ultimately, I started to dislike Tamlin more and more, and I really hate what he has done. I am still curious about why he did it and mostly why he thought it was his only choice. I still wasn’t into Feyre’s character throughout this book, but Rhysand definitely made up for that. Rhysand has a character that is well thought out, and he has more to him than meets the eye. I am thrilled about Lucien's development and the choices he has made. I am happy that he didn’t just go blindly after Tamlin without thinking of the other possibilities he had.
“When you spend so long trapped in darkness, Lucien, you find that the darkness begins to stare back.”

I am indeed reading the next book after this book’s ending, which was unbelievable.
This book is a 4-star for me.
