Dating Dracula by Kinsley Adams
I needed a bit of a more straightforward book to get started on while still being on the ferry to Kristiansand, and this is one of the easier books I had preloaded on my Kobo reader. I am always looking for new books about vampires, and this one I found on Kobo Plus before I left on my holiday.
This book is about a girl named Anna. In her world, vampires are just becoming known to the human population. She and her friend go to a bar to try and find evidence of illegal blood drinking. But not everything goes according to plan, and Anna gets killed by a vampire and turned by Dracula himself. The trouble doesn’t end there; we follow Anna while she adapts to her new form.
“My name is Vlad.” He took my hand and lifted it to his lips before brushing a gentle kiss across my knuckles. “But most know me as Dracula.”
Kinsley Adams, Dating Dracula
This was a fun and easy read for in-between, and I enjoyed myself while reading. It isn’t a great-quality book, but more of a fanfiction story. I would have enjoyed this book more if the characters were a bit better thought out. The main character is too stupid and never thinks before doing anything. Of course, there are people like this in the real world, but this girl was far worse.
“But you’re the furthest thing from my worst enemy. And the thought of losing you before I even had a chance to know you… I couldn’t bear that.”
Kinsley Adams, Dating Dracula
I will read the other books in this series whenever I need a little break from more difficult books because I enjoy the way Kinsley Adam writes, but it’s not a series I would binge in one go. I would get bored too quickly and would probably read myself into a reading slump.
This book will get 3 stars.
