A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas

After reading the first and second books, I was eager to get into this next one as soon as possible. The last one ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, so I am glad I don’t have to wait until the next book comes out. I can’t imagine how that must have felt for the people who had to endure it.

In this book, Feyre returns to Tamlin and his court, but for other reasons than Tamlin thinks. She needs to be careful with what she does and says so she won’t blow her cover. The war between the courts and the king gets bigger, and Feyre will have to learn how to proceed in her new position.

“Why should I be scared of an oversized bat who likes to throw temper tantrums?”

Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Wings and Ruin

I don’t like this book as much as the last one. I am getting bored with the characters and the story. This book doesn’t give me the feeling I love to get from reading books. I love the feeling that I can’t wait to read again, and this book is not giving that to me. I felt like this book was the same as the first two. It had the same setup and storyline but with other details, and I felt like this book was way longer than needed.

Feyre being undercover in Springcourt would have been a perfect way to get me to love this book, but it wasn’t at all like she was undercover, and it was only for a short period. We only hear her talk about how much she hates being there, and there isn’t any sneaking around to find out stuff they don’t want her to know.

“You do not fear. You do not falter. You do not yield. You go in, you get her, and you come out again.”

Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Wings and Ruin

I am a bit sad that I don’t love the series as much as some other people do. I would love to be as obsessed with the books as they are. I am still going to finish the series because I want to give the next books a chance and because I have only one book and a novella to go.

I am going to give this book 2,5 stars.
