Silver under Nightfall by Rin Chupeco
When I saw this book and its sequel, I knew I had to get them. They are so beautifully made, and with a story about vampires, there is almost nothing that can go wrong. Tips for all the writers out there, make a book with spraided edges and write about vampires and you have an extra reader.
The book is about Remy Pendergast who is the son of the duke and a bounty hunter. He hunts on vampires gone rogue. Because of his mom’s history, he is an outcast wherever he goes until there is a new breed of vampires and he goes to investigate. During his investigation, he meets a vampire heiress and her fiancé.
“He was too soft, like his father had said. Must have gotten it from his mother. And then he wondered if his mother had only been soft because she'd loved his father. Like kindness had ever been a sin.”

During their time together Remy starts to get feelings for both of them and has to learn to deal with those. Getting close to vampires will go against everything he has learned from his father and the rules in the kingdom.
“Can't I just have a little bit of slaughter? I'm sure they won't notice.”

I loved this book. The storytelling really kept me invested in the story, and I loved the relationship between Remy and the fiancé. I didn’t really care for the vampire heiress, she is around when Remy and the fiancé are together but other than that she wasn’t really necessary for their relationship. There were a lot of unexpected turns during the investigation of the vampire virus, which made reading this book even more interesting. The ending was an even bigger cliffhanger, and I can’t wait to get started on the second book.
I am going to give this book 4 stars.
