Last Sunday, I went out for the day with Friends. As we are all studying or working in other cities, we try to do something with each other every few months. At 10:30 AM, they picked me up, and we got into the car. It was a one-and-a-half-hour drive, but we made a small stop in between to have a picnic. 

After talking and eating, we returned to the car and drove to our location. For the last few years, we have had the tradition of touring with Echoppers and Esteps. The area where we do this has chances every time, and this time, we went to Exloo in Drenthe. 

We drove through a beautiful area and made a few stops along the way. Of course, we had to see the dolmens, but we also went up a watchtower used in its early days to monitor the forest. This was high above the trees, so they could spot a forest fire while it was still small enough to contain. On our route, we even ran into a few ponies. They were adorable, and we stayed there for a bit to cuddle them.

We were lucky with the weather. It had been raining for the last few days, but this day, it stayed dry. It was a bit cold, so after returning to our starting point, we all got warm drinks to warm our hands. 

At the end of the day, we went out to dinner together. The dinner was delicious, and we all went back home with a full belly and a whole lot of new memories. Now, we’re back on the drawing board to plan our next day out.
