Day Nine: Breheimen National Park

Today, we woke up to the sun in the sky, which made the Glacier even more beautiful. Today is the first day the sunglasses had to get out of our Travel Bags. The sun makes the most beautiful places even more impressive.

But we were back on the road again because there were so many more places to go and sights to see. We drove through the Lustrafjorden, and the water was extremely blue. With no wind, sitting down by the waterline for a little while was perfect.

After a few days of misty conditions, we could finally see the other side of the fjord. It’s almost unbelievable that such places exist and for the first day of this holiday, the jackets and sweaters could go back in the bag.

Later in the day, we drove by another massive waterfall, and you know me, we had to stop. There was even a cute cow posing in front of the waterfall. But we couldn’t stay here forever, so back in the car and on the road we went.

We hadn’t even parked the car when the local sheep came running down the mountain towards us. With their jingling bells, they make a lot of noise when running, so we knew they were coming. They stayed by us for a little while, but when we set up our tent, they left to go further down the mountain.

We have found a fantastic spot to park our car. Just next to the tent, you can see another glacier, and on the other side, we see even higher mountains.

With such nice weather, we decided to hike up one of the mountains. It was a challenging hike because we wondered about the path and took a slightly more complicated route, but it was more than worth it. In one of the cities we crossed while driving here, we bought some chocolate croissants and ate them at a height of 1450 meters above sea level. Who wouldn’t want croissants after hiking up a mountain?

We didn’t expect the sheep to return in the evening to help with the dishes. We did have to redo it because they made quite a mess. Although they did say thank you before leaving again.
