Day Ten: Jotumheimen National Park
We were up early this morning and had breakfast with knackbrød and Norwegian cheese before returning to the car to drive up the next mountain. One of the fun things we saw there was this table. The two pieces could turn, and if you could see the mountaintop in between the two pieces of glass, it would say the name of the mountain and its height.
This mountain, the Fannaråki, has a height of 2068 meters. One day, we will hike all the way up to the snow on the top, but sadly, not today. However, that’s probably better as we would be massively undergeared.
We did hike up to a spot a little bit closer to the top, but when the dark clouds came running in, and the first spot of rain began to fall, we made our way back down. We were pretty surprised it wasn’t as cold as we had expected. I would have thought the temperatures would be close to zero with all the snow around us, but at some parts, it was warm enough to hike in only our t-shirts.
Now we are parked with a beautifull view of the mountain and we hear the calming sound of the stream and again we have some sheep around the car. They came by to visit right after we returned from our hike up the mountain.
