Day Twelve: Grimsdalvegen
Today, we had a bit of an easy morning. We slept in and woke up with the sun shining on our faces inside the tent. We lay briefly, warming up in the sunlight, as the last nights were freezing. But after a while, we decided to pack up our things and get back in the car. We accidentally took a wrong turn but were rewarded with a beautiful view and a gravel road between a few mountains.
We felt like we were on a safari. We saw sheep, cows, and horses, and the cows didn’t stop saying hello. Booo! There were a few ‘wild’ camping spots along this road, so we were able to throw away our trash and empty water bottles before continuing our trip.
Seeing the horses running and grazing in front of all these mountains was lovely. They were a bit too far away to say hello to them. They aren’t wild horses, but I bet it must feel amazing to roam free through these grasslands. The grassland they are on is quite extensive, so for them, it must feel like they are free to go wherever they want to.
As another windy night approached, we found a place covered by trees. It smells excellent here with all the pine trees around, and because we had to take a Toll route to get here, it is very quiet here. The only thing we hear is the wind blowing through the top of the trees.
A little walk away, there is still a perfect view. There is a fire pit in this open space, but I don’t think we will make a fire. We did that a few days ago, but with as much wind as there is now, there is too big of a change it could jump over to the forest.
After seeing all those beautiful stones at the Stonecenter in Lom, my boyfriend decided to go looking for them himself, and I can’t complain; he did find a few that are very nice indeed.
In the evening we decided to go on a small walk even though it started drizzeling a bit and I am gladd we went, because we found a perfect place to take a picture.
