Save You by Mona Kasten
I already owned the second and third books in the Maxton Hall series, so after reading Save Me and liking it as much as I did I couldn’t wait to pick up Save You next. The second I finished the first one I picked up the second one and read for at least one hour at once.
I won’t tell too much about Save You as it is the second book in a series and I don’t want to spoil too much of the first book. This book starts in a bad place between Ruby and James. Ruby is heartbroken and wants nothing more than to be free from the elite world of Maxtion Hall, but she has to focus on her future, and that involves going to school and there it’s impossible to avoid James all the time. Save You is a book full of teen struggles, familial expectations, and challenges. Together they have to forgive each other and fight through the complexities of love.
"You ripped my damn heart out, and I hate you for it, but I also love you, and that makes it so much harder."
Mona Kasten, Save You
I like the way Mona Kasten writes and the book flies by so fast. Even though it’s a young adult romance book there are still some harder topics in this book. The loss of a parent and teen pregnancy are difficult to deal with but are part of the lives of many young people. I like that more and more authors decided to write about these things and it didn’t take away from the rest of the story. In the end, it’s still a very lighthearted romantic love story.
"James, you need to breathe," Ruby whispered suddenly.
Mona Kasten, Save You
The third book is already on my desk, ready to start. These books are the perfect way to wind down after a long day at work and don’t need a lot of brain power as there isn’t a magical world that needs to be explained. Sometimes a simple love story is all you need and want.
Another great book by Mona Kasten, 4 stars.
