Throttled by Lauren Asher
I was looking for a light read when I found this one. I love watching the real Formula 1 races and have read a few short stories written by people who love Formula 1 as much as I do, but I have never seen a novel written about Formula 1. I saw it when I was shopping in Groningen with my mom and was able to get it with my Kobo Plus account.
In this book, we follow Noah Slade and Maya Alatorre. Noah is a Formula 1 driver who does anything to win the world championship. His world turns around Formula 1, one-night stands and nights out with friends, but this all will change before the end of the season. A change was set in motion by his new teammate, Santiago Alatorre. Who takes quite the distraction for Noah with him, his sister Maya. Maya is joining her brother all over the world to watch his races and to work on her Travel Channel on YouTube. She tries to avoid all the drama around the Formula 1 driver for her brother's sake, but will the drama stay away from her?

I usually don’t read many romance books, but I feel like I have been enjoying them a bit more the last few years, as long as there is another aspect to the story I like. In this story, I loved the F1 theme, and on every page I turned, I was hoping to read more about the drivers, the races, and the dynamic between the drivers and the other team members. The first half of the book was perfect. The romance was cute and I loved the fact that they weren’t being physical right after meeting each other. It still got too physical and too detailed in the end, but the problematic struggles Noah was going through made up for that.

This is definitely a romance book I would recommend, especially if you're as in love with Formula 1 as I am. I'm a bit torn between giving this book a 3 or a 4 star, but I am going to give it 3 stars because it got too physical for my liking.
