A little bit closer to the sea…

Today we left at 9 o’clock. A little bit later as normal, because here in the city the bridges don’t open till nine. It was quite an easy way to get here. The wind had lied down again and we had to motor all the way. We said goodbye to Leeuwarden and the tilted tower.

On our way we did see al lot of windmills, a few old ones, a few newer ones and we even saw one that will never turn. It was quite beautiful made and is called the ‘Eendracht’. It is part of one of the schools of Leeuwarden.

When we arrived in Dokkum we were lucky enough to be able to lay our ship in the middle of the city, right under one of the mills. We are hoping the put on the light, like we saw on quite a few pictures. But maybe they only do that around Christmas.
