A much needed trial run…

There we went again. Back on board! We already brought a few thing the day before and this morning it was time to step on again.

At 9 o’clock we left and first had to sail to the lock chamber of Makkum. Trough which we got quite easily. The lock chamber of Kornwerderzand was a little bit less easy. It was very busy and the back of our ship got blown away by an other ship. But after a little bit of patience we got it turned again and we moored safely next to an other sailboat.

After getting trough the lock chamber we had another hiccup. While hoisting the sail, we got less than a meter outside of the channel. We are quite deep and got stuck on the bottom of the sea. Luckily we got back out and were ready to sail.

Most of it was sailing with the engine on, because there was only around 4 knots of wind. After around 5 hours of sailing we arrived at Texel. Where we are now laying in the harbor enjoying the sunshine.
