A day on the Island!

We chose to stay the day on Texel. It was beautiful weather to go for a bike ride. I am lucky enough to have a space on board to store my bike, but for my boyfriend we had to rent a bike. There are quite a few places here to rent and it isn’t that expensive.

First off we rode to Ecomare. This is the animal shelter for the marine life. There are a few bassins for different kinds of seals and around these bassins they have a few rooms where you can learn about the sea life. It was quite interesting and we even learned a few new thing. I would never have guessed that there are more porpoises as seals in the North Sea. The little seals outside were very cute, wouldn’t you want to lay in the sun next to them.

The bigger seals were also cute, but a lot quicker in the water as I had seen in the wild. We were there around their lunchtime. I get why they have to be so quick. When the caretaker came with a bucket of fish the gulls soon followed and they wanted the fish to.

But our problems for this trial weren’t over. We had now gas, so now way to cook our dinner. Luckily there are more than enough places to get food here at the harbour. We went for fish and chips.
