Day seven: Windermere

Today it was already time to leave our cottage in Staxigoe and to get back on the road back to the Netherlands. We cleaned and organized most of the stuff and the cottage last night as there was more than enough time before the clock hit midnight. Happy New Year everybody!!! We had a long drive ahead of us, as we had to drive for eight hours. But there was al lot to see, so the hours flew by.

We even drove right into the winter. First, we saw the snow in the mountains and after that, there even was snow on the road. There were a few places that we had to drive a bit more carefully, but most of the roads were made clear by snowpliers. Although we did have to make an extra stop to clean of the windows, they were getting a bit to salty.

I wanted to make a snowman, but the stops were to close to the highway so that would have been a bit too dangerous. So that is a memory we will have to make the next time we see snow. There have to be a few stops along the way were we can park for a little bit longer than 3 minutes.
