Day Two: Espelund

Where we are right now is impressive, but we had quite the day to get here. We had to get out of the tent at 7 A.m. This wasn’t hard because the forest smelled of pine needles, and the birds were already singing their songs. After a quick breakfast, it was time to return to the car and drive to the ferry.

We were a bit early at the ferry, and because of that, we could see the ferry arriving. We got on the same ferry as in the winter, but even the second time, we were nervous. We were the first in the line this time, so we could not follow the car in front. The crew was perfect in pointing us in the right direction. We left the car and went to the top deck. The ferry took around four hours, so we watched the sea and relaxed with a book.

At 13:30, we arrived in Kristiansand. We were getting a bit hungry, so we went to the local supermarket and made bread with salmon. The salmon in Norway is fantastic and will always be the first thing we eat there. After lunch, we got back on the road and drove to Lindenes. I have loved lighthouses since I was a little girl, and if I see one on the map, I have to go to it. It was quite the drive, but the view made more than up for it.

After seeing the lighthouse, we went to look for a place to sleep. It was only a 2-hour drive to where we planned to sleep, but there were so many beautiful places that we stopped three or four times. We even saw some cows and where we are now we still hear them, because they are wairing bells around there necks.

We had another sleeping spot in mind, but we saw the perfect one on our way there. There was no way we weren’t going to stay there.

Dinner with this incredible view is done and now we’re going on a hike aroud our camping spot.
